Boy, we’ve been watching this lucrative racket between the Clay siblings for quite some time now! This would really be of interest to the mainstream media if Representative Clay wasn’t a back bencher, minority in the minority with slightly more influence in the Congress than a House usher. And not only is Clay’s sister involved with the racket, trusted high level staff members are in on it as well
Washington Free Beacon:
Rep. William Lacy Clay (D., Mo.) disbursed nearly $30,000 of his campaign funds to a law firm owned by his sister during the first quarter, Federal Election Commission records show. Clay’s campaign committee, Clay Jr. for Congress, spent over $47,000 in the first quarter of 2017, which runs from Jan. 1 to March 31. A bulk of the money disbursed by his campaign went to the Law Office of Michelle C. Clay, LLC, a Silver Spring, Md.-based firm that is owned by his sister. Michelle Clay has been paid $27,000 this year so far, accounting for 56 percent of all his campaign expenditures during the 2018 cycle so far. Read more…

After getting embarrassed by a female conservative on national television and after starting an organization that gets funding from Klan, we mean, Plan Parenthood, Jason Kander is the future of the Democrat(ic) Party?
Breitbart:
Despite Hillary Clinton’s 19-point loss to Trump in Missouri last November, 36-year-old Jason Kander — a former intelligence officer in Afghanistan who is the president of the Let America Vote PAC and now former Secretary of State of Missouri — lost to Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) by just a few points. Politico points out that Kander “drew a slightly bigger crowd than Bernie Sanders had at the same event two years earlier” and that “he’s kept doing presidential-ish travel and generating presidential-ish buzz, though the highest office he’s ever held is secretary of state—of Missouri.” The fact that Democrats are seriously considering rallying behind someone who could not even hit 47 percent in a U.S. Senate race–Kander only managed to get 46.4 percent of the vote in the general election–highlights the gravity of the predicament the party has slumped into since Clinton’s devastating loss in November. Dick Gephardt, “the son of a milk truck driver,” has done quite well in the corporate world since he left congress. One of the perks of serving on a corporate board is a nice salary for attending a few meetings a year and stock options. One of the boards Mr. Gephardt serves on is Obamcare insurer Centene. While most major insurers are fleeing the Obamacare exchanges like the plague, Centene is actually expanding into new markets. One would think this is a brilliant business strategy; enter a market other insurers are leaving thus leaving you basically a monopoly. But with Obamacare failing and with Republicans preparing to scrap it, the smart money seems to be on Mr. Gephardt’s stock play of dumping Centene stock.
Utah herald:
An insider of the company Centene Corp, Richard Gephardt also its director, disclosed his trading activities with the Security Exchange Commission on 14/06/2017. As announced in the document, Richard had unloaded 4,350 shares of the Missouri-based company. The total insider trading transaction was worth $336,603 US Dollars. Read more…
To broaden the appeal of their cause, professional protesters have purposely tried to confuse the public into believing Coldwater Creek and the Westlake Landfill contamination are one in the same with propaganda articles like this. Here is the closes the author gets to stating that falsehood:
STL American:
“In the case of Bridgeton and West Lake landfills, reliable testing has not been conducted. Advocacy by watchdog group Just Moms STL resulted in additional tests, which confirmed the concern that radioactive waste was not confined to a small corner of West Lake Landfill, as previously alleged by officials. In fact, they found radioactive waste in the contiguous Bridgeton Landfill, much closer to the ongoing underground chemical fire.”
Vulnerable “moderate” Senator Claire McCaskill has hopped aboard her Party’s hypocrisy train by chastising Republicans for crafting their a healthcare bill in secret!
Leicester Post:
“We have no idea what’s being proposed,” McCaskill said in an emotional response. “There’s a group of guys in a back room somewhere that are making these decisions”. Hatch replied he didn’t know if there would be another hearing but “we’ve invited you to participate and your ideas”. We’re not gonna have an opportunity to offer a single amendment. Read more…
Yes the same Party that crafted Obamacare without any Republican input – or votes. The same party, under President Obama, that passed a so called “stimulus” bill that had Congressmen “crossing their fingers” after their votes and senators hoping their plane ride home is not delayed.
MOPNS: (2/13/09)
“Speed is important”“Debate starts at 10 in am. Votes late tomorrow aft or early eve. Holding flight home tomorrow night. Hope I make it.” – Sen. Claire McCaskill on Twitter

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger and St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson held a news conference yesterday to tout the latest Better Together Report:
KMOX:
Krewson and Stenger embraced a report released by the group Better Together, which claims the region is wasting taxpayer money on an abundance of local governments. The report claims the region is spending $119 million more than four years ago to fund 114 local governments. Since April of 2012, the study says there have been 100 muncipal and fire district tax increases in the region.
“We have hundreds of taxing jurisdictions that get to take a bite of the apple every year,” Stenger said. Krewson agreed, taking care to avoid the use of the word “merger.” “I do use the word ‘combination,’ because for me that means not one solution, some kind of a solution,” Krewson said. Read more...
Former St. Louis County executives and St. Louis mayors in the past have also danced very carefully around suggesting a merger of St. Louis County and St. Louis City. There is also strong opposition against a merger from North St. Louis politicians.
