Gov. Jay Nixon cut $74 million from the Missouri budget on Tuesday amid declining state revenues….Nixon, a Democrat, has now vetoed or cut more than $700 million from the $23.7 billion approved by lawmakers for state operations and capital improvements.
The governor proposed cutting another 120 state government positions and cutting spending on equipment that would save almost $3 million. The governor’s budget office did not have further details about from where those cuts would be made and how many state workers would lose jobs.
