Does Media Even Care Anymore About Objectivity?

September 23rd, 2009 by mopns · No Comments

Imaginary conversation yesterday between Jay Nixon, Kelvin Simmons and Jack Cardetti:

Nixon: “Damn that Missouri Political News Service! They’ve once again exposed my shady dealings regarding campaign contributors and fee offices.”

Simmons: Yeah, this looks pretty bad boss, especially the part where Alternative Opportunities already knew how many fee offices they were going to get.

Nixon: We’ve got to do something about this…and quick. Maybe FiredUp Missouri can help us out. Their bloggers are still on the payroll right?

Simmons: Yes, but it’s too obvious. We need an “Objective” (motioning with his fingers)  journalist (wild laughter breaks out among the three) to get our side out.

Cardetti: I’ve got it! Dave Cantanese! He hasn’t been earning his money from us lately. I’ll write the story for him and hook him up with some of AO’s people. It’ll be perfect!

And “suck ass” Dave Cantonese comes to the rescue! Dave, in our posts, we never questioned how well Alternative Opportunities was operated or how well they treated their employees. What we questioned was the bidding process and how AS knew how many fee offices they were going to receive? And another thing to clear up Dave. The Missouri Republican Party didn’t have a position on this particular story until you called them. Your biased story made it seem that the MRP called Jay out on this. We know it’s hard to give us credit, but you look really stupid and petty trying not to!
