Nixon Appoints “Real Republican” to Transportation Commission

June 10th, 2010 by sclemons · No Comments

Last November, we told you how Governor Nixon’s Office was considering several Black Democrats for a Republican slot on the Missouri Transportation Commission since they did not want to appoint a real Black Republican.

The Black Democrats included Marjorie Melton, who was fired as President of the Board of Public Service by Mayor Francis Slay and a Black corporate lawyer in St. Louis who had contributed the maximum to Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Democratic Presidential Primary. We guess after the Governor’s Office realized that it would not be able to pass off a Black Democrat as a Republican, they decided to appoint a real Republican (Ken Suelthaus), who happens to be Caucasian.
