Kinder’s Huge Lead Means Desperate Page Will Go Ugly

September 22nd, 2008 by jjjameson · No Comments

With a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Poll showing Peter Kinder up 16 points in the race for lieutenant governor, there is no doubt that Sam Page is going to go negative with all kinds of outrageous claims in the next few weeks, if not days.

The thing is, Page’s record can’t compare to Kinder’s and with Page’s campaign quickly slipping into the abyss, one can only assume that the good Dr. Page will go Mr. Hyde in a last-ditch effort to save himself from complete embarrassment.

We can only guess what kind of fictional attacks Page will come up with smear Peter Kinder, but a lot of insiders confirm that Page’s campaign isn’t beyond just making stuff up along the way.

So, get ready folks. Either this week or early next week, you are going to see some of the nastiest political campaigning you’ve ever seen and Sam Page and his allies will be behind it. Think of the most ridiculous lie, multiply it by 10 and then 10 again, and that’s what we’ll see from Page.

Fortunately, Kinder’s stellar record of accomplishment will rise above it all and Sam Page will be sent packing by the people of this state.

Until next time

Dr. Page mistakenly thought he could win the Lt. Governor’s race by simply riding the tide of national anti-Republican sentiment. It was a fatal strategic error on the part of Dr. Page and his cronies. Page completely underestimated the impact of Peter Kinder’s stellar record, and the desire of Missourians to retain a proven leader.

I have heard that some big donors in the state’s Democratic Party are beginning to view Sam Page as a losing cause. Why invest money in someone trailing so badly when there are other Democrats with a decent shot? One has to wonder if the funds for Page are drying up after such a poor showing in recent polls.
