Monday, we linked to a column by internet consultant David All which suggests every Republican college student should be armed with a video camera to hold Democrat politicians accountable. We thought this was a very good idea. (for selfish reasons that should be obvious) The related excerpt below from The Source is not exactly what we had in mind.

We go even further today and suggest that all college students – regardless of party affiliation – should be armed with video cameras. Citizen journalists have filled the information gaps left by lazy journalists and “fiercely independent” journalists with axes to grind under the guise of objective journalism. The above video is a great example of what Mr. All is advocating. Jay Nixon – who claimed he only “campaigns on weekends” – is seen de-boarding a private plane. Oh by the way, this video was shot on a Thursday. Does this mean that Mr. Nixon’s work week is only Monday thru Wednesday?

Vinay “wide stance” Vaz

Tracking candidates has become a part of the political landscape. Candidates should be held accountable for what they say in public settings. Like any other profession though, there have been fairly clear, self-imposed rules. For instance, taping a candidate’s speech at a public event is fine but following them into their home or office would be taboo.

Enter Vinay Vaz, Jay Nixon employee and assigned tracker for Governor Blunt. Vaz doesn’t seem to care much about the rules and this week entered into the unseemly paparazzi side of tracking. Vaz actually had the audacity to follow the Governor into the men’s bathroom at the Kansas City Police Academy last night.

The Source isn’t quite sure what Vaz was looking for from this clear intrusion of privacy. Perhaps he was told by Nixon to catch Blunt in a private moment. Maybe he wanted to get to know the Governor better. Possibly he is just accustomed to taping men in public restrooms. Read more…

On board with the sentiment but if you fellers are going to be taken a least bit seriously you should identify the airplane correctly. If the airplane with the spinning PROP was the plane Jay was getting off that is not a jet.

    So long for now.
