Hsuflies Hovering Around McCaskills Dirty Money

September 6th, 2007 by mopns · No Comments

From the 24th State:

Jo Mannies catches up to two Republican party blogs who revealed Claire McCaskill’s refusal to give back tainted money from Norman Hsu associates For those not playing along, Norman Hsu is a fugitive wanted for over a decade for a Ponzi scheme, who also happens to be one of the best fundraisers for the Democratic Party. Hsu was recently caught, and fled, leaving behind $2 million in bail money (That’s a lot of cash the Democrats could have used in the upcoming election).

And on a side note – bloggers from across the country have been on this story. It’s not just the Republican party apparatus in the form of the Pulse and the Source who broke this story. That it was, allowed Mannies to start her column with:

“The Missouri Republican Party and its favored blog sites, Missouri Pulse and The Source, have gone on the attack today against U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo.”

The statement by Mannies gives the impression that this is merely a partisan issue raised by MO Republicans, and not a serious scandal that affects Democrats nationwide, but one can’t help but wonder if the Source and the Pulse are going about this the right way. Perhaps if they learned to interact with the network of conservative blogs working on this (for example, Suitably Flip), or Instapundit, or Wizbang, they wouldn’t be open to charges of partisan hackery.
