From the St. Charles City Watch:

Per the St. Charles Business Record Jeff Roe has sued both County Councilman Joe Brazil and the First Capitol News in a counter claim.

This spring the FCN published an article about the 2007 mayoral campaign in St. Charles that called Roe a “political assassin” in a photo caption. The story’s headline said “Professional character assassins brought in for election”

Roe claims the newspaper incorrectly said he was involved in the campaign. Roe is seeking $25.000 or more on each of the two claims in the suit plus punitive damages. Per Brazils attorney, “Brazils only participation was faxing the newspaper a copy of the earlier news report form the Suburban Journal. Read more…
