Hundreds of people gathered Saturday to get a glimpse of presidential hopeful, Barack Obama.

Sen. Obama stopped in Kansas City last week as he continues his fund raising efforts across the country.

Obama urged Missourians, both in Kansas City and St. Louis, to contact their representatives in Washington, D.C., and tell them to support a bi-partisan plan to bring American troops home from Iraq.

“One of the Senators we need to persuade is right here in Missouri. Sen. Kit Bond needs to hear from you and people across Missouri, who understand that it’s time to change course. The only way we’ll ever bring this war to a close is by persuading my colleagues to sign onto this bill. This is how we’re going to bring our troops home by building a bi-partisan coalition the President can’t ignore,” he said.

It is estimated that Sen. Obama raised about $100,000 during his brief visit to Kansas City, which was the result of a $2,300 a plate VIP reception and $25 each tickets to the rally at the Muehlebach Towers ballroom.

You can call and waste your dime if you want, we all know where he stands on the war. MOPNS is more interested in his position on the pending immigration bill being discussed.
