An audit released Thursday says the departments overseeing K-12 schools and public colleges and universities either did not appropriately monitor the use of stimulus funds by schools or were slow in doing so.
If you follow Governor Nixon’s logic of a couple of years ago, it really doesn’t matter if the borrowed and printed stimulus money from communist China is spent efficiently because our ‘kids and grandkids will pay the debt off,’ not us:

“Missourian’s paid their taxes, and if there’s debt, Missouri kids and grandkids will pay that debt off,” Nixon said Sunday morning on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal…
…The governor very cavalierly dismissed this fiscal responsibility argument as a non-issue.
“My golly, this is chance to transform our economy, this is a chance to balance our budget, this is a chance to move forward,” Nixon said.
Nixon later repeated his earlier argument that “the debt” the country “may have” as a result of the bill will get paid off by people’s “kids and grandkids.”
Jay Nixon railed against Washington overspending during his campaign, saying repeatedly, “We don’t have a printing press for money here in Missouri.” But just 4 months later, he has vowed to accept as much federal stimulus money as he can get his hands on:
