Is Obama’s support the kiss of death?
We continue to be amazed at the drastic decline in President Obama’s approval ratings. Just a short eighteen months ago, chants of “Yes We Can” and the slick campaign slogan “Hope You Can Believe In,” inspired millions of voters – some of them first time voters. Every Democrat politician of every stripe was more than ecstatic to be pictured with the new president. Britain’s former prime minister Gordon Brown received a short term boost in his popularity back home when he came to Washington during the early days of the new presidency.
My how things have changed! A poll over the weekend gave the president a 34% approval rating among Missouri voters. Obama’s bad poll numbers are also dragging down politicians who are perceived to be closely associated with him, as evidenced by the Democrat’s gubernatorial losses in New Jersey and Virginia and Congressman Blunt’s six point lead over Robin Carnahan. By the way, has anyone noticed how Governor Nixon has been AWOL on Obama’s Missouri visits and controversial policies? Nixon’s not on the ballot this ear, so he has cover, but the Carnahan’s and St. Louis County executive Charlie Dooley ARE on the ballot this year. Are they getting nervous?

I have watched this administration and it seems to me, the people of our land “think” our president can solve our problems, and when that one man or woman can not seem to make it happen, they get all upset. it is the people themselves who should be making the necessary changes

there is no reason to believe politicians have all the answers.

And time to stop electing ones who bankrupt us trying. Well said, Mr. Trotter.
