After the hugely successful (tongue firmly planted in cheek) program of giving people almost free money to buy automobiles, the next “cash for clunkers” program in the pipeline involves trading in your old washing machines and dishwashers. It seems Americans are getting weary of government bailouts – even if they’re supposedly designed to help them:
“Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Americans favor a “cash for clunkers”-like government program to give cash rebates to people who buy new, energy-efficient appliances, but 49% think it’s a bad idea, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.” Read more…
