Usually we’re in lock step agreement with our friends over at Bungalow Bills Conservative Wisdom, but today, we have to make an exception. It seems that freshman State Representative Eric Burlison has raised the ire of one of the posters:
“Eric Burlison, representative for Missouri’s 136th District was on the Vincent David Jericho show this morning. Jericho asked him what impact the tea parties were having in Jefferson City. Burlison admitted the legislators weren’t talking about the tea parties. I find this to be an alarming statement. Do we not matter to these people anymore?”
In all fairness to Rep. Burlison, there are a few issues going on in the Legislature that kind of take precedence over tea parties right now. C’mon guys, cut the man some slack!

I think they’ll start talking about it when the teaparty comes to their house tomorrow.

Talk about a knee-jerk reaction, when Eric was reporting about discussions (or lack thereof) happening in Jeff City, the assumption is that he is not sympathetic to the Tea Party cause. I’m sure Eric shares many of the same passions that these fiscal conservatives have, and to insinuate that he doesn’t care is quite short-sighted. In the interest of full disclosure, I am Eric’s uncle, and a city councilman in Springfield. The shame here is that individuals from his own political base are the one’s being the most critical. How unreasonable is that?
