[Clueless] Quote of the Day: “C’mon Back to Missouri Roy, You’ve Got Beltway Fever!”

With an apparently straight face, Mr. Temple gave us this gem in Chris Cillizza’s “The Fix” column when asked if Obama’s nominee’s tax problems affect the way people view the President:

Does the focus on Daschle (and, to a lesser extent, Killefer and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner) change the way people view Obama?

No, argued Roy Temple, a senior Democratic strategist, who said the economic woes will overwhelm any and all other issues.

“The Daschle issue matters more in Washington than it does in the country,” said Temple. “Voters are far more likely to be angered by GOP games interfering with the president’s economic recovery, than they are by whether one of the President’s nominees had a issue and had to step aside.” Read more…

Uhhh Roy, in these tough economic times, IT DOES MATTER to people when the President’s millionaire appointments don’t pay their own taxes! Especially when they know that eventually he’ll be coming after them for more money.

    Obama may see the fastest drop in approval numbers in the history of the office. He’s already seen a huge drop.
