The rub on Jeremiah has always been that he can sometimes be overcautious to a fault. Well here’s his first example as our new governor. Citing health concerns -and frivolous lawsuits made prevalent by his trial lawyer buddies – incoming Governor Nixon is nixing plans for inaugural guests to bring homemade desserts.From KCTV:

Nixon’s campaign said Wednesday that guests should bring only store-bought cookies, pies and other desserts to his inaugural meal next Monday.

Nixon spokesman Jack Cardetti said local health officials raised concerns that homemade desserts carry a greater risk of food-borne sicknesses. Read more.
