Quote of the Day: “In Politics, If You’re Playing Defense, You’re Losing”

Sydney Morning Herald: “Crewless, car-laden ship drifts towards Alaska.”

When describing Rep. Kenny Hulshof’s so far lackluster campaign for governor, (and we emphasize so far) one could easily borrow the above headline, change a few words, and you’d have the campaign in a nutshell:

“Crewless, Washington-laden campaign drifts towards November.”

And speaking of Washington, party faithful who contacted MOPNS this week through emails were dismayed that with the campaign running so poorly, campaign manager John Hancock was wearing his other hat in D.C. as a lobbyist!

There’s an old saying in politics that “If you’re playing defense, you’re losing.” That’s what readers are telling us after they received two emails from Rene Hulshof this week defending her husand from Jay Nixon’s attacks. We understand that there are those who will consider us “not team players” because we’re voicing our concerns, but at least we’re not supporting the other team.
