St. Louis Evening Whirl columnist “The Shadow,” gives his post mortem on the 5th District senate race between winner Robin Wright-Jones and Rodney Hubbard.
The problem with Rod (It’s easy to quarterback afterwards), is his campaign manager.
It will go down in political history that Antonio French, a website news developer was too busy satisfactorily upsetting greedy political whore Chink Washington as committeeman, and helping with that whacked female, left-wing state rep. get re-elected – when French missed the big plum – the election of his main man, Rodney.
French needs to know that he has now been labeled the man who f*cked a brother out of a huge chance ’cause he was too busy driving his own train to the political party and forgot his main ace, Rodney. Shame on him.

I’ve never been way too impressed with French’s political acumen. His first big “victory” was managing What’s-His-Face Doughterty’s campaign for SEN-4, a St. Louis City district. The trouble was, he was the only Democrat running in a yellow dog district. Obviously, he’s going to win.
Get back to me when you can make Angela Davis the Governor of Alabama.
Anyway, I’m not too impressed with political advisors in general. I think that way too many of them rise up in the ranks simply because they were at the helm of a candidate who happened to win, even if their advice was irrelevant to their guy’s or gal’s victory. Therefore, the way to rise up in the ranks of advisors is merely to luck out.
One target of my ire is Karl Roverrated. Bush won two national elections in spite of Rove, not because of him. Note November 2006, where was Rove’s “genius” then?
