No Chicken Dinner Photo Ops for Hulshof

May 8th, 2008 by mopns · No Comments

Today, Republican gubernatorial candidate Kenny Hulshof, all but shut himself out of the “chicken dinners with Democrats” photo op circuit by supporting a House bill requiring an ID to vote. We applaud the Congressman for supporting this common sense measure. In a twenty first century world of terrorism, isn’t it a good idea to be able to indentify people correctly?

We also frankly have never seen much value (or positive results for that matter) in dissing established and loyal Black Republicans by enaging in this time honored dog and pony show with Black Democrats who probably aren’t going to vote for you anyway. What’s the definition of insanity; doing the same things repeatedly and expecting different results?

The St. Louis Election board is investigating at least two vote fraud issues now. Both involve elected officials and or their families. Requiring a photo ID would probably have eliminated some of this cheating. In the case of the Carter family, members of the family had drivers licenses from St. Louis family but still voted from the family home in the City. Hopefully there will be more on this later.
