In a campaign email today, the Blunt campaign released polling data that suggest that Jay Nixon’s abuse of his taxpayer susbdized vehicle, and his political witchunt – under the guise of an independent panel – is not sitting too well with ordinary Missourian. From the email:

“The most important point to note from these polling results is that the Governor’s standing has steadily improved throughout the year, which ensures the campaign will be strong as we approach 2008.”

* A majority of Missouri voters have a favorable impression of the Governor (51%), with 39% having an unfavorable impression. This is an improvement from January, when 47% of voters had a favorable impression and 45% had an unfavorable impression.

Attorney General Nixon has seen a rise in his unfavorable ratings.

* Jay Nixon’s favorable to unfavorable ratio has dropped considerably since March and is now under 2 to 1 (46% favorable, 24% unfavorable). Nixon’s unfavorable rating has increased by more than 40%, and his favorable rating has dropped 8%.

* In March, Jay Nixon’s favorable to unfavorable ratings were 50%-17%, a nearly 3 to 1 ratio. Nixon’s unfavorable ratings are going up as people begin to learn his record and positions on issues vital to Missouri families.
