Missouri Pulse sounds off on St. Louis attorney Chet Pleban being chosen as the new lead counsel for Jay Nixon’s “independent investigation” into deleted emails in the governor’s office.

“Pleban has time to fit a partisan witch hunt into a busy schedule that has recently included representing sex offenders who live near schools, defending a former U.S. Attorney charged with committing sex crimes, challenging capital punishment in Missouri via his defense of a convicted killer, defending a former St. Louis area fire chief accused of stealing $200,000 in public money and disparaging a state legislative effort to permit law abiding citizens to protect themselves in their own homes against Pleban’s prospective clientele…”

“Shoot your lover in the head? Viciously slash a woman to death? Feel you were unjustly slandered by a school-board member? If you answered yes to any of the preceding, there’s only one man to call: ace attorney Chet Pleban.” – St. Louis Riverfront Times

This isn’t going to make the black community and the civil rights groups in St. Louis very happy to hear that Jay Nixon has picked him for anything. After all, Pleban seems to defend every white cop in the SLPD that comes up for “police brutality” accusations. Combine that with deseg issues ca. 1996, and black enthusiasm for Nixon will be low.

Blunt will rue the day he got rid of the Webster County judge. Pleban plays to win and Blunt’s team just isn’t smart enough to beat him. Blunt really needs to talk to his friend and former Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher to find out what it’s like to have a scandal wrapped around your neck for an entire campaign.

If there is a scandal it will be a manufactured one. Pleban always plays to win but he doesn’t usually play with the truth.

Fletcher lost in KY because he’s for open borders and immigration amnesty for illegal aliens.
