Another Example of Partisan Bias from the Political Fix

Jake Wagman attempts to re-live the glory days of when comrade Dick Gephardt was in power, by describing Gephardt as one of the “two heavyweights” hired by the Government of Turkey. The other “heavyweight” in the piece is the Fleishman Hillard public relations firm that employs former Senator Jim Talent as Co-Chairman of Govt. relations. Is this just an oversight Jake?

The Turkish government has hired two St. Louis heavyweights to help the country fight its escalating political battle on Capitol Hill.

Former U.S. Rep. Dick Gephardt and public relations giant Fleishman Hillard have been retained by the Eurasian nation to help block a Congressional resolution condemning as genocide the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians over 90 years ago.

Looks like O’l Tricky Dick is being a bit hypocritical according to this blog:

Former House Minority leader Richard Gephardt, hired by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government to lobby for Turkey, actively worked in support of such resolutions in the past. When a last-minute intervention by President Bill Clinton stopped a similar resolution before a vote in 2000, Mr. Gephardt wrote to the then-House Speaker Dennis Hastert, Illinois Republican, to tell him that he was “committed to obtaining official U.S. government recognition of the Armenian genocide.”

Our friends in the majority, who emphatically claim they “love the troops,” have introduced a resolution in the House to condemn Turkey’s genocide against the Armenians- ninety-two years ago! It turns our stomach that the Democrats are so eager to pacify their Code Pink, Moveon.org base, that they are willing to jeopardize relations with  a moderate, secular Islamic government that allows us the use of a military base and allows us to fly over their territory. If Turkey takes away our use of their airspace, how are we supposed to get ammunition and supplies to our soldiers?
