Columbia—Representative Jeff Harris, Democratic candidate for Attorney General, reported a cash-on-hand balance of $350,906 as of September 30, 2007. Harris has raised $299,887, $92,317 of which was raised during the most recent fundraising quarter that ended on September 30. Harris submitted his report today to the Missouri Ethics Commission, which can be viewed on-line at www.mec.mo.gov .

More than half of Harris’ 864 donations are from outside mid-Missouri, demonstrating his growing statewide appeal. Harris received an average contribution this quarter of $259, and more than half of his donors contributed $100 or less. These numbers reflect Harris strong among rank and file, mainstream Democrats.

“We are very pleased with our efforts to date. We are on target to reach our goals and to have the funds necessary to run an aggressive campaign. Our support is broad based and diverse, just like the Democratic Party”, commented Harris.

This was a unique fundraising quarter for Harris because it coincided with the birth of his first child. “The most important blessing last quarter was the birth of our daughter Grace,” Harris said. “My wife and I could not be more proud and happy.”
