National efforts to pursue criminal charges against businesses that sell pornography and other sexual materials are seeing results in the Kansas City area and at least one organization says it wants to fight back.
The National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families-Kansas City branch has petitioned several Prosecuting Attorneys, some in Missouri, to seat Grand Juries in the effort to shut down adult bookstores and strip clubs. Little organized opposition to these efforts has surfaced to date. The opposition that has developed is being led by the Missouri/Kansas Free Speech Coalition.
The organization’s founder, Chuck Munson, discusses his view on the role of government in matters like this, “intellectual freedom” and the beliefs that pornography lead to crime and sexual abuse of children.
