A bill that Congressman Sam Graves believes will help small businesses get investment capital passed a U.S. House committee Thursday.
Mr. Graves, a Northwest Missouri Republican, helped write the Small Business Investment Expansion Act, which now moves to the full House for consideration.
Under current law, Mr. Graves pointed out, businesses with financial backing of greater than 50 percent remain ineligible for Small Business Administration programs. Such a limitation penalizes companies doing high-cost research, he said. Read more…
