Kudos to Greg Young, a citizen activist who cares about the way his-and your- tax dollars are being spent.
For many years, Greg Young would read a newspaper and turn to his wife, Donna, and complain when he found something that aggravated him.
On Nov. 10, 2005, Young came across a story that motivated him to act.
The article that lit the fire under Young focused on a $4 million housing project in Springfield that was financed with $11 million in state and federal tax credits for historic buildings and low-income housing
God bless this man. Developers in Missouri have been extremely reckless lately as is usually the case when people get loads of other peoples money.
“My costs, my tax dollars that are going to these projects is miniscule,[sic]” he said. “It’s nothing. It’s not worth my time to fight for this because of my tax dollars that are being spent. But when you take all the 5.5 million people in the state, that’s all those people who are losing a little bit, and they never get together.”
Bravo, Mr. Young.
