“Baghdad” Tony Messenger: “AP A Form of Blogging”

June 12th, 2007 by mopns · No Comments

“Baghdad” Tony amazes us to no end. First, he says the demise of the newspaper business is overstated, and now he says: “Newspapers have been doing a form of blogging forever. It’s called The Associated Press.” Messenger is demonstrating he’s about as clueless as his buddy from St. Louis – who simply cuts and pastes headlines- but still thinks he’s a blogger.

Another blogging lesson for you “Ozark Messenger.” One of the reasons average Joe’s are writing political blogs is because it allows ordinary citizens to express their opinions on important issues of the day. These blogs are a combination of news and facts, interspersed with opinion, and unfortunately, unsubstantiated gossip and innuendo. Are you implying that Associated Press articles have all these characteristics? If you are Mr. Messenger, aren’t you giving away journalistic trade secrets that the rest of us have known for years?
