The Pitch called K.C.’s Warren Erdman last week “one of the city’s most powerful men. The former staffer to then Gov. Kit Bond – who managed Bond’s 1986 Senate campaign and then served as Bond’s chief of staff – is apparently so powerful now, that he doesn’t even fear his old boss.
Insiders tell the Missouri Political News Service that Erdman almost single handedly derailed Hulshof’s bid for the top UM job. Erdman was appointed as a curator in January. Insiders tell MOPNS that Bond feels “knifed in the back” by his former aide and is livid.
This would have been the perfect scenario for the Senator; he gets his guy into the top post, and his mid level staffer Jason Van Eaton gets a chance at a congressional seat. After past episodes with the Graves camp, and now this diss, is the senior Senator from Missouri losing his influence?
