The Missouri Political News Service sends a hat tip to Missouri’s political bloggers and chat boards for linking to this story. MOPNS was the first news source to break the story of Rep. Hulshof’s chief of staff’s resignation. The Columbia Tribune Politics Blog, a Missouri blogger on Daily Kos, and a chat room called TigerBoard.com […]

DCCC Wisdom
May 16th, 2007 · No Comments
“She [Kay Barnes] benefits from the fact that most people in the district don’t view her as a Republican or a Democrat right now,” said DCCC spokesman Doug Thornell. And the big D by her name in the election won’t give it away?

Was It Worth It?

It seems Sen. Loudon’s tricky maneuver that cost him his important chairmanship–and makes him very vulnerable–might have been all for nothing. In a change of events, the Post Dispatch reports the Senate attatched Loudon’s midwife scheme to an unrelated bill that doesn’t have much of a chance. Egg on your face Senator.

The Missouri Political News Service reported Monday (before anyone else) that Rep. Kenny Hulshof is being considered to become the next University of Missouri system president. In fact, MOPNS has learned that Hulshof’s chief of staff is scheduled to resign effective May 31st. That usually only means one thing- the Congressman will be resigning also. […]

The Missouri Political News Service has one question for Mr. Davis How is it the Governor’s fault that the state procured equipment to comply with a new state law; a law that was later found unconstitutional by the Missouri Supreme Court? (KTVI […]

Kay Barnes Loses Her Roots
May 15th, 2007 · No Comments
Kay Barnes is trying to return to her roots, but it may be hard since she really doesn’t seem to know where they are, or who is left. In her thinly veiled attempt to ditch her urban background, Barnes tried to sound like a country girl during her press conference on Monday. She referred to […]

Quote of the Day

“He [Sen. Loudon] showed this whole session that he’s a lying snake. And for him to get up there today with this piousness and pretend he would have been honest with anybody is absurd. He lied to everybody in the process. And he has put small businesses and people who work for small businesses that […]
