US Housing & Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson, who cut his public housing teeth here in St. Louis, is always a favorite at City Hall.
Secretary Jackson will meet with Mayor Francis Slay today to announce a federal grant that will help fund the rehabilitation of rental and ownership housing here — and provide rental/purchase assistance to low-income St. Louisans.
Details:
The City of St. Louis will receive more than $4 million from the federal government to produce more affordable housing and help low-income families purchase homes. The grant is part of HUD’s HOME Investment Partnership Program and American Dream Downpayment Initiative.
