Quote of the Day: Gov. Nixon: “I’m Kind of a Big Deal”

July 20th, 2009 by MarkTwain · No Comments

Jay Nixon traveled to Iraq over the weekend with four other governors.  He apparently believes that our soldiers were in awe of him, as reported by the Springfield News-Leader:

“It certainly feels like a shot in the arm to them as they touch the governor of the Show-Me State.”

Now to most people, that comment would sound a little arrogant, but apparently not to Jay “Ron Burgundy” Nixon. But why shouldn’t Jay feel a bit cocky. He has ex reporters on staff and the drive by media has given him an extended honeymoon and pass on any major criticism. Just check out KY3 political “reporter” Dave Cantanese “midway report card” on the governor’s performance:

Since this is the midpoint of Nixon’s first year as Governor — here’s a quick summary of his grades for the first 26 weeks:

BREAKDOWN: He’s gotten 6 A’s, 12 B’s, 7 C’s, 1 D

Hey, you’d be cocky too!
