Regular readers of the Missouri Political News Service know that we have been regular critics of the congressman from the first district. From his securing earmarks for his sister, to voting against lobbying reform, to signing a letter to President Bush to de-fund our troops while they’re in harm’s way, Lacy Clay has been a disappointment to his constituents to say the least. Well on Wednesday, you can show your displeasure with the congressman at a rally sponsored by the organizer of the St. Louis Tea Party movement. Here is a description from the events Facebook page:

“Let’s tell Lacy Clay what we think of his support for socialism. He’ll be at KETC, Channel 9 to shoot “The News Hour” live on Wednesday to celebrate Obama’s spending.

Lacy Clay (D-MO) is a radical, left-wing “redistributionist” who wants to nationalize almost all industry and business. He is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus which was organized by the Democratic Socialists of America, which even hosted the CPC’s website for the first 8 years of its existence. Clay used the race card to quash audits and investigations of Fannie Mae after an auditor accused Fannie Mae executives of misconduct. Clay is as responsible as anyone for the housing meltdown that created the current economic crisis. He should resign from Congress immediately, as his constituents have been particularly hard-hit by Clay’s statist actions.”
