Pssst….Rex Sinquefield & Speaker Jetton, Something You May Want to Know

October 9th, 2007 by mopns · No Comments

Super Democratic lobbyist Travis Brown has been a busy man these last few months. In June, he loaned his private airplane to Lt. Governor Candidate Sam Page for his campaign announcement fly around. And then in July, he announced the formation of his new lobbying firm  (Pelopidas) along with its first employee, former Speaker Pro Tem Carl Bearden. This is what we posted last summer on the momentous event:

“Travis Brown is an interesting character. His clients have ranged from the porno industry to Monsanto. He has school choice clients but ferries around anti school choice candidates on his airplane. He gets his bills passed in the Jetton House, but contributes very little to Republicans. The new marriage of Brown and Bearden is going to be interesting to watch.”

Now that Jay Nixon has admitted skirting campaign finance laws when it came to the use of his official vehicle, we find it interesting that Travis Brown sent $25,000 to the Democratic Governor’s Association last May. In an “appreciative” letter from Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius – Chair of the Democratic Governors’ Association – Sebelius stresses to Brown: “It is critical, particularly in this presidential election cycle that we retain and elect Democratic Governors.”

Many politicos are speculating that Nixon is making it easier for the Democrat lobbyist to give against Governor Blunt by having Brown funnel his contribution to the Democrat Governors’ Association instead, then they in turn, contribute it back to the Missouri Democrat Party. Seems like Mr. Brown is trying to secretly contribute to Nixon efforts, but doesn’t want his money man Rex Sinquefield and Speaker Jetton to know.

The Missouri Political News Service will continue to investigate.

You guys are hilarious. Maybe you are not who everybody thinks you are. Maybe you are really Randy Turner. He also writes drivel attempting to create a web where none exists. Neither of you are encumbered by telling the whole truth.

Comedy Central may be looking for a mid-season replacement. You guys should audition.

This Travis Brown guy sounds like a real liberal dirt bag. Why does Speaker Jetton, a Republican do anything Travis wants? Thanks for reporting.

Doesn’t Monsanto like A-B and other major corporations give to both sides?
