Two Fundraisers a Month ‘Till March; Hmmm, Wonder If Graves is Running for Senate?

January 20th, 2011 by mopns · No Comments

As former Senator Jim Talent continues to decide if he wants to run for his old senate seat, northwest Missouri Congressman Sam Graves told The Hill  yesterday that he may be interested in a promotion.

We believe Mr. Graves talk is more than idle, since according to the Sunlight Foundation, Graves has two fundraiser scheduled every month (the first one was ironically yesterday) until March. Since Mr. Graves handily destroyed his most serious candidate Kay Barnes back in 2008, we can’t imagine another reason why he’s fundraising so early for 2012.

Rep. Sam Graves (R) told The Ballot Box he’s “looking at” running against McCaskill in 2012.

“I certainly wouldn’t want to close the door on it. It’s something that I look at and kind of evaluate and we’ll see what happens,” he said in an interview. “There’s a great opportunity to take back that Senate seat.”
