The Creve Coeur Empire Strikes Back

November 15th, 2010 by mopns_admin · No Comments

In an effort to remain relevant after blatantly ignoring the will of the public last October, the Creve Coeur city council passed a more stringent smoking ban than St. Louis County.

Sith Apprentice Beth Kistner sponsored an ordinance that strips the ability of business owners to determine how to serve their clientele.  In a 5-0 vote, representatives of the Creve Coeur Empire voted in favor of the ordinance.  Of course, certain exemptions were made for private clubs, which makes one wonder whether the ordinance was truly altruistic in its intent to protect employees.  Kistner claims the exemption was made to garner broader public support, which seems laughable in light of the recent actions of the city council, and the fact that this ordinance was not put to a public vote.

Grand Moff Robert Hadenhorst declared a crusade against the “Stone Age” policies of Jefferson City, and intends to unleash his imperial fleet in an effort to promote a state-wide ban on all smoking, defined as:

Inhaling, exhaling, burning or carrying any ignited, lighted or heated cigarette, cigar, pipe or smoking product, equipment or apparatus, involving tobacco or other plant material or nicotine in any form.

Fearing the Rebellion is growing against the opaque policies of city council, certain council members are lashing out at everything that may threaten their power, including those that use tobacco products.  “Red light cameras” have already been a boon to the city council against the rabble known as the public.  The corporations reaping the profits from the cameras can recycle money to the council against the Rebellion of the public.

Unfortunately, the council members representative of the Republic, Laura Bryant and Jeanne Rhoades were absent at the vote.  Bounty Hunter A.J. Wang must be feeling the winds of change because he was also absent.

We wonder which area of morality Creve Coeur will strike out against next: gay marriage, alcohol, happy meals!
