Picture of the Day: What $100 Million Earmark?

September 21st, 2010 by mopns · No Comments

Our young friend over at the STL Activist Hub demonstrates clearly today why the Democrats will face an electoral tsunami come November.  Mr. Shriver’s gullible idealism shields him from the 500lb gorilla in the room that a $100 million dollar earmark for the brother of two politicians named Carnahan – is not a particularly good development.

You see Adam, people in the real world understand that if wind farms were such a great idea, the free market would have kicked in by now and the need for government subsidies would not be necessary. Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates didn’t need government subsidies to build their great companies, so why does Tom Carnahan need them for his?

On a more analagous subject, electric power certainly needed massive subsidies to reach rural consumers in Missouri and elsewhere. The REA stands as monument to that.
