One of the fun things about watching politics for a long time is that the worm always turns, and what goes aroung sooner or later comes around. Nixon spent four years and hundreds of thousands of our dollars trying to get Matt Blunt’s e-mails while simultaneously concealing and refusing to release his own. The press position? “That’s the Way, Jay!”
But now he’s governor and public opinion is beginning to turn. And now it’s the press that wants these videos. And all of a sudden he’s not a Hero of the First Amendment any more.
