Tipline: “The Greatest Sense of Entitlement This Side of the Clintons”

Is Gina Loudon losing the sign war in her 7th district senate primary race? We received this email from a reader recently:

“It is sooo obvious that Gina Loudon is running for John Loudon’s third term. A friend got this letter from Loudon for Senate. It assumes that because she supported John Loudon, she will put a Gina Loudon sign in her yard. That is the greatest sense of entitlement this side of the Clintons. How about a candidate who stands on her own two feet! Your readers might enjoy Gina’s chutzpah.

Speaking of running as the second coming of John Loudon, have you heard Gina’s radio ad? It uses the barking watchdog theme that didn’t get him nominated for auditor. Can’t this woman do ANYTHING of her own?”

What a joke! I thought I was the only one who got a sign I didn’t want! When I took mine down she had the nerve to leave me a note at the door asking why. Good riddance loudons

to compare the Loudons to the Clintons is obsurd! As for the signs…most voters are not that up and don’t realize that Loudon and Cunningham are running for the same office so they are saying yes to both like they had in the past! Gina Loudon sent me a post card/letter asking if i would consider supporting Gina and placing a sign in the yard as I had for John – I also recieved a phone call the same day from a phone bank. I asked for 6 signs in my yard!!! Not about entitlement folks, it is about the core values of the persons willing to throw themselves out there for this bs and the scrutiny that follows!

Since when is ASKING PERMISSION a sense of entitlement? If I read this non sequitur correctly, Dr. Loudon sends a thank you note, asks permission, and provides postage for those who wish to decline, and THAT earns her this verbal chastisement? I’d say that’s smart campaigning and good courtesy on her part, and jealous sniping on the part of the submitter.

By the way, a quick drive around the district will also reveal yards that display Cunningham and St. Onge signs together, as well. To me, this indicates the homeowners’ ignorance to the fact that these candidates are opponents in the same race, not anything negative about the candidates themselves.

Jen, you must be insane. Since when is it incumbent upon the homeowner to respond to junkmail in order to avoid “litter” being placed in their yards?

I think it’s rude to put a sign in somebody’s yard without asking then asking them to go through the trouble of mailing it back….why can’t she ask the homeowners like everybody else (Like Neal and Jane asked me personally) and THEN put the sign up . I never got the letter because I didn’t support her sleazy husband and THANK GOD!

Sgt. Dan, couldn’t have said it better! This is sleazy in my opinion.

LOL@ Jen’s “Dr. Loudon”…guess who works for the campaign?

We respect mail in degrees nowadays? Really? Can John practice law with his?

    “Dr” Loudon’s school-

The degree holds about as much weight as Dr. Seuss or Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman’s doctorates.

Laura, I’ll keep this short as to not fry any remaining brain cells… You are a loser for having 6 signs in one yard.

  • 9 Amy C. // Jul 23, 2008 at 12:08 pm

The Loudons have lots of friends who have always let them put up signs in their yards when John’s been campaigning.
Now, Gina’s running. Wouldn’t it be natural to expect that many of their long time friends and supporters would be supporting her in this race and want a sign as well?
I think this is one of the most ridiculous posts – griping about a candidate who is asking a known list of supporters of her family if they will once again put up a sign!!
I happened to have driven all over the current Loudon district over the weekend, and from what I could tell, Gina was smoking everybody else with signs!

If this is how low and ridiculous negative campaigning has to go, I understand why some people are fed up with politics.

MOPNS, If you support Jane or Neal, why don’t you write a positive post about them, instead of a negative one about a non-issue for a candidate you apparently have some personal grudge with??

Let’s talk about some real issues in the 7th district race – like why Jane and Neal won’t sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and Gina is the only candidate who has!

  • 11 PencilNeck // Jul 23, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Because Gina has to do symbolic bs to make up for her non record.

I believe both Neal and Jane have said they will not raise taxes, in fact Jane has promised to lower taxes.

Let’s not compare records here folks Gina will not win.

  • 12 David // Jul 23, 2008 at 2:20 pm

Loudon is the only one in this race with a backbone. St. Onge and Cunningham put their issues on the back burner in order to run for Senate. Loudon stands strong for what she believes in.

  • 13 Laurel // Jul 23, 2008 at 3:42 pm

The original post and many of the comments seem rather petty. There are real issues we could be talking about, folks.
Gina gets my support because she is a woman of principle, willing to stand for what she believes. She is the true conservative in this race.

  • 14 Ronnie // Jul 23, 2008 at 7:11 pm

She stands up for a $675 contribution from the porn lobbyist, after her husband secretly killed language regulating adult dancers.

  • 15 MissouriLiving // Jul 23, 2008 at 8:05 pm

LOL, Scooter can you please check the IP addresses of all these Loudon supporters so we can see how they call have come from the same address?

Loudon has NO record. NONE. Republicans cant complaing about Obama’s lack of a record then nominate Gina who has no record, an online degree, a midwifing business and a check from the porn industry.

    Please Scooter post the IPs!!!!

  • 16 Summer // Jul 24, 2008 at 8:06 am

I’m just wondering when exactly yard signs became political news? Does this have anything to do with ANY of the issues currently before the candidates?
As for having a “record”, I’d much rather start from scratch with someone who has no record and good values than a candidate who has a blemished one and questionable values.

  • 17 Amy LOL // Jul 24, 2008 at 10:25 am

Gina has a midwifing business?!? I’m sure that’s news to her!
She’s actually delivered all of her kids in the hospital, and I doubt she’s ever even seen a homebirth in her life!!
What kind of business are you talking about? The only thing that I know about that is that she strongly supports FREEDOM for healthcare consumers. She believes that the government should get out of our lives and trust WE THE PEOPLE to make sound and decent decisions when it comes to our own healthcare. Somehow I respect that a lot.
Let’s talk about real stuff – not made up stories and jokes about people that nobody believes!

    Gina Loudon Sucks!

  • 19 Laura // Jul 27, 2008 at 7:17 am

wow! bitter, angry folks…feel free to check my ip scooter – no relationship here, but I guess it would be interesting to see about the haters here. As for records of the candidates – and you think Jane and Neil have great lead sponsorship on actual passed bills??? check again folks!
